Guys

I need to block the creation of subtasks in a particular state, say in closed state.

Which workflow permission should I use ?

None.

Sub-task create is limited by "must have create" and "must be able to edit". There's no workflow permission that controls it.

If you put the "do not edit" property on the workflow status of "closed", that will do it.

I saw some properties like jira.issue.permission.subtask.create etc. But it doesn't work.

I can't block editting. Do you think there is a work around ?

I think you're guessing there. The property you want is documented at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Allow+editing+of+Closed+Issues
