Hi everyone,
I have the current situation:
- Jira internal directory
- Usernames are firstname.surname (so joe.blogs for example)
I want the future state to be:
- AD authentication only
- Existing Jira groups to remain and for group membership to be controlled in Jira
Problems:
- Current AD usernames are formatted differently - Joe Bloggs is joebl for example
- Current Jira internal directory contains users that are not in the current AD domain so need to stay in the internal directory
After speaking with Atlassian support, the future state cannot be achieved through the front end and that database manipulation is needed, which they will not support.
I have set up a new Jira internal directory with AD delegated authentication and would like to move one user over to test. My understanding I would need to:
- Update the username in the current Jira internal directory to match that in AD
- Somehow remap that user from the current Jira internal directory to the new Jira internal directory with AD authentication
It is the 2nd point above I need help with if anyone has gone through something similar...?
