I have marked field to be required and put it to the screen which is shown only on the specific transition.

But when I try to create issue, it cannot be done because it requires to fill in required field even though it does not appear at the 'create issue screen'.

How can I make field required only on a screen where it actually appears?

Thank you.

It is a known issue. If the field is required, it is required while creting even if it is not on screen.

Yse the "Field Required" workflow validator on the transitions instead.

But the resoultion field on default resolve screen is required field while it's set non-required field in default field configuration. How it could be ?

Hi Jobin,

Have you got a link to the defect that documents this issue. Is Atlassian aware of the issue?

Thanks, James.

James, it is how the feature is designed. Not treated as a bug by Atlassian. Not sure if someone raised a request to change this behavior or not!

Hi, you can also use the Behaviour Plugin on top of JIRA Suite Utilities to get the red "*" for required fields on other screens.

The resolution field is always required when presented. It isn't a good idea to put it on any screen except the transition where you want it set. It will automatically appear on the view screen.
