How to make Epic display in a schedule based on a Kanban board?

Tamara March 27, 2023

For some reason, I can't display epics in a plan/schedule based on a Kanban board.

Only tasks/initiative show up but not epics despite of the hierarchy filter.

It should be like shown here.

Any ideas which settings to check?

HI @Tamara

Are Epics displayed in the board ? Also if you run the search of the filter use to configure the board, do you see the Epics ?

Thanks, Florian, for the quick hint!

Indeed our board filter does not include epics/intiatives.

Therefore I have changed the following:

1. Create a simple new filter like "type in (initiative, Epic, task)"

2. Set this filter as the only source for the plan.

3. Reload the plan

4. Unfortunately same effect.

As you can see in the attached screenshot, initiatives do not have the expand option, and the initiative No. 6 has two associated epics for example.

What the hiearchy defined looks like in the configuration ?

Did you set the initative as Parent Link in the Epic ?

Also can you remove the group by assignee ?

Hierarchy is Intiative->Epic->Task. Yes.
I think the grouping setting is crucial as it does change the view, but there is no option to enable grouping in a way shown in the screeshot linked in my post, as it seems.
