In Tempo I would like to have users to log time against type of task, for example 3 hrs. in Analisys, 2 hrs. in Design, etc. The idea is to know how much time is being applied to each of these task types in a project on a given period.

What is the simple way to achive this in Tempo?

Thanks in advance.

The way many solve this today is to add a Worklog Attribute that lists the type of work. In particular, see Dynamic dropdowns.

Thanks.

The concept of account in Tempo may be applied here too? If it's so how both approaches differ?

In theory yes you could use accounts for this if you don't need them to distinguish work to different clients/departments/contracts/etc, which is what they are designed for. But accounts are quite flexible and our customers use them in various forms based on their business.

So if everything logged in JIRA ends up on the same financial account and you just need to differenciate type of work, then accounts could be good fit for you. You could also use account categories to represent different type of work.

We have on our roadmap to support 'type of work' out of the box. Until then, you can use worklog attributes or accounts.

Is it possible to get a report at the Project or Team Level aggregated by attribute for given period?
