How to limit project permissions for certain members for read only?

Marcin Szarek October 16, 2017

Hi,

How to limit project permissions for certain members for read-only?

I have a few members who have the access for the project and I want to

reduce their permissions for the project to the read-only one.

I want to keep my permissions as unlimited.

Can you please advise.?

Many thanks

Make sure you don't have the jira-users group in the permission scheme. By default, JIRA puts the group many, if not all, permissions. Some versions of JIRA have a different name, but it is the group all users are put so they can logon to the application.

Hi Marcin

You can create a new project role called "read only" for example

In the permissions scheme used by your project grant the "browse projects" permissions to this role. That should be the only one a read-only user needs

Then in your project add the members to the the new read only role. And make sure that those users are not in one of the other project roles
