Connect your JIRA to the local Active Directory, then use this plugin:

I personally found it very easy to set up and it works reliably

Assuming you don't mean cat food or something to do with advanced driving (that's what IAM means to most people around my area) and you are looking at user directories, the answer is going to be "code".

You'll need to find or write an authenticator for JIRA that can handle your corporate directory and provide SSO as well.  There are a number of add-ons in the marketplace which can do this, just have a look for SSO
