Hi Team,

We have two instances of JIRA on different machines. We want to migrate one single project of JIRA from one instance to another without overwrites all the existing projects. We are using project import facility in JIRA to complete this task. During this task we have received many errors and we resolved it. But still we have errors due to this we could not migrate JIRA project from one instance to another. Below is the error screenshot.

We tried below steps to resolve this issue but still not resolved.

1)      Jira Agile version  - checked but both versions are same

2)      Custom field plugin - checked but both versions are same

3)    Edit the configuration of the custom field 'Atlassian' so that there is no restriction for Issue Type (All Issue Type selected)

4)    Administration -> Fields -> Configure (the gear on the right of a custom field) -> Edit Configuration for Applicable contexts for scheme -> Issue Types -> "All issue type" option.

  • Custom Field Configuration
Unable to import custom field 'Customer Request Type'. The custom field type does not support project imports.
Unable to import custom field 'First Response to customer'. The custom field type does not support project imports.
Unable to import custom field 'Sprint'. The custom field type does not support project imports.
Unable to import custom field 'Time Spent'. The custom field type does not support project imports.
Unable to import custom field 'Time to resolution'. The custom field type does not support project imports.
  • Status
The status 'In Review' is in use by an issue of type 'Task' in the backup file. The default workflow 'jira', which is associated with issue type 'Task', does not use this status. This workflow is not editable. You must associate a workflow with issue type 'Task' that uses the status. To do this you will need to use a workflow scheme.
See the documentation for more information
The status 'In Review' is in use by an issue of type 'Story' in the backup file. The default workflow 'jira', which is associated with issue type 'Story', does not use this status. This workflow is not editable. You must associate a workflow with issue type 'Story' that uses the status. To do this you will need to use a workflow scheme.
See the documentation for more information
The status 'In Review' is in use by an issue of type 'Test' in the backup file. The default workflow 'jira', which is associated with issue type 'Test', does not use this status. This workflow is not editable. You must associate a workflow with issue type 'Test' that uses the status. To do this you will need to use a workflow scheme.
See the documentation for more information
  • Issue Security Level
The issue security level 'Delete Issue' is required for the import but does not exist in the configured issue security scheme for this project.

Hi Meera,

If you've not already solved this yourself, I just ran into the same problem, and found the error message confusing.

My scenario - I was importing a project into an new, empty project with the same name and key. After re-reading the message a few times, I added a suitable security scheme to the new, empty, project, and re-ran the import.

Hope that helps,
