How to have check boxes to go horizontally instead of Vertically

I am looking to have check boxes go horizontally instead of vertically. Is this something which is easily done. If so could someone please let me know how to go about it, it would be most appreciative.

It's not configurable in Jira.

You need a bit of code or trickery. Some people hack the .vm file that draws the custom fields, some people use javascript to move things around, and some write entire custom field plugins to do it.
