How to get a snapshot of a JIRA project

cgadam November 10, 2013

Hi, I would like to know how to get a snapshot of an entire JIRA project. (with all the tickets in it, their status, all attachments/mockups, etc etc) so that if I want to restore that in the future it will load the entire JIRA project just as it is today!

Thanks!

You will have to backup the enitre instance.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Backing+Up+Data

You can then restore the project alone at a later stage if needed.

Hi Christian

You make a full backup of your current instance, and when needed you give it to the target Jira and then use "project import": https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Restoring+a+Project+from+Backup - it will read the whole import file and pull out the project you select.

Hope it helps,
Ricardo Carracedo.
