How to find deleted issues details?

Hi, I want to find deleted issues details. Could you support the method of checking it? Thank you in advance.

There is nothing you can do here.

Deletion destroys the issue completely, and the only remnants you have are a line in the audit log (which will be purged after a while), and the negative information that there is a hole in the sequence numbers in the project.

This is why the standard recommendation is "do not allow people to delete issues" (give them a dustbin project or a "cancelled" status in their workflow instead)

There are a couple of apps in the marketplace that, when installed, grab a lot more detail about the issue that is being deleted before it is gone, but you need them to be installed when you delete so they can catch the information you are choosing to destroy.

Hi @Jason Liu

There is no way to recover or store deleted issues in Jira. You can look for some plugins in the Marketplace. My team has developed the Issue History add-on for the Cloud version, I believe you can find something for Server too.

Thank you. I will try to find something.

Hi @Jason Liu ,

are you looking for details of a deleted issue? That's not possible, if you delete an issue, it's gone and can not be restored or viewed any more.

If you want to see data in the issue, that you deleted from the issue, you can do so in the history. It is located at the bottom of the issue in the activity tabs.

There are all changes listed, that has been made to the issue, so there you should also find the data you deleted.

Hi Bastian, Yes, I want to see who deleted an issue and what happened. So I want to suggest that Jira develop this function so that we can check deleted issues. Please help to raise a ticket or something else. Thank you.

Hi Jason,

you can try to raise an issue with Atlassian Support, just go to

Maybe they will create a change request then.
