How to delete inactive projects in jira 5.0.7?


In our organization we are using jira5.0.7 which is having more than 1000 projects. Out of this 700 projects are inactive projects(We notice that this 700 projects are not creating any issues for last 180 days ). Because of these projects our jira performace is too slow. Number of issues also getting increased day by we need to delete all these inactive projects.

Kindly suggest one easy way to delete all these projects.

However, always backup your data(xml or dump) and home directory to avoid any data loss.

A new feature of bulk delete was created earlier which you can consider to vote the feature as well:

JIRA Command Line Interface has deleteProject action that can be combined with an SQL query or similar using the runFromSql action.
