How to create a test case

Michael Noll September 8, 2015

Hi,

I"m on a Zephyr for JIRA cloud trail and try to create a test (case), but it fails because the issue 'test' is not available from my pull-down menu.

Do I have to pre-define it before 1st use ?

I searched all the menus, but wasn't able to find it. Somewhere it is even said that with Zephyr issue 'test' is automatically created.

Can you help me ?

Kr., Michael

Hi Michael,

Follow following Steps:

  • login with admin credential
  • Click on setting symbol on extreme right corner then click on Issues
Then on left-hand side you'll find "Issue Type Scheme" Click on it.
  • Then You'll find Default Issue Type Scheme in middle panel Click on Edit(In Operations Column on Default Issue Type Scheme).
  • Then Drag and Drop issue type "Test" to "Issue Types for Current Scheme"
  • Click on Save

And you are Done !!

Cheers smile

Hello Sopan,

We have to perform above on JIRA to add test cases on JIRA ?

Or Do you know how to write test cases using JIRA ?

Thanks

Aniket

Hi Aniket To create TestCases you have to use "Zephyr"(Add-on to JIRA) because by-default JIRA don't have issue type as "Test"
