How to convert next gen Project to classic type?

When project was exported from Trello to Jira - new type gen project was created in Jira. How can I convert it to classical type Jira Project ?

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Next-gen and Classic projects are different when it comes to shared configuration, so currently, we can just bulk migrate tickets from one project to another. It will not be possible to change the project type only, because there is a lot of configuration from next-gen that doesn’t work on classic and vice versa.

Hi, Angelica.

So, why can't I import Trello project in classic type Jira project? Why there is default generate next-gen Project?

And next question - is there possiblity to import Trello's checkboxes task to Jira task (by import project Trello -> Jira Cloud)?

This is the default option when the site has Jira Software. If the only product is Jira Core, then it will be imported as a Classic project.

We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

Regarding checkboxes, it won't be imported as mentioned in the documentation above. The workaround is to use an add-on on Trello and Jira. You can find the details in the article below:
