I need to check if a certain IssueType (e.g bug, Epic ..) already exists when creating the same IssueType Item.

How to check if an issue with a certain summary already exists with the Jira Automation compare function?

Are you referring to doing that check on manual issue creation? If so, you'll need a workflow app that provides validators based on Jira expressions - see https://marketplace.atlassian.com/addons/top-rated?category=Workflow
