How to carry data on similar fields from any issue type to Subtask?

Hi,

When we click on create sub task from a Story/Defect/Task the similar kind of fields 'data' (if exists) should carry automatically by default to newly created subtask. This will save lot of time.

How can i achieve this?

I don't think that this is currently possible. There is, however, a feature request regarding this that you can find here : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-5225

Thanks for the info Joe. This is one very good feature to implement. Dont know why its been kept in backlog.
