How to bind proxied url to virtual server

Shib Saha October 18, 2017

Hello Everyone,

We have Jira and Confluence hosted on the same server at default port, jira on 8080 and confluence on 8090.

By using apache http server, we have set the url http://gloabalit.domain.ads/jira for jira and http://qiagenit.domain.ads/confluence for confluence and both the application is accessible on its proxied url.

But to expose both the application over internet, we need to bind a public ip with url and for that need to assign a virtual server for both the application.

When we ping the url gloablit.domain.com, virtual server ip should reflect and for qiagenit.domain.com another virtual server ip should refect.

domain.ads is used for internal network and doamin.com is used for external network.

Can anybody please suggest how to achieve it.

thank you in advance.

Regards,
Shib Saha

You need to go to a domain name provider, buy those domains, and then get them pointed to your external IP addresses.

Once you have that, you can put your proxies on those IP addresses, and then get it to proxy back to your servers.

You will need to set the base urls of Jira and Confluence to the external domain urls.
