How to auto assign a plan only team to new issues as they are created?

Adam Bang

We are using Plan only teams in Jira planner, and assigning these teams to issues.

The teams are created in Plans with the issue source being their allocated board. Plan only Team 1, issue source is board 1.

When a new issue is created on a board, how do auto assign that issue in my plan to the team.

For example, an issue is created on board 1, plan only Team 1 needs to be assigned to it.

Hi @Adam Bang ,

I suggest you set up an automation rule for your request. Some ideas in mind:

  • Trigger: Issue Created
  • Condition: Check if the issue's project key matches the board's project key. (e.g.: Board > is > Board 1)
  • Action: Assign the issue - Set the assignee as your plan-only team.

You'll need to determine the unique identifier of the plan-only team.

I hope this will help 😊
