How to allocate ressources to different projects in jira

Stephan Hompes October 15, 2013

Hello,

we are currently evaluating jira to use it for our development process over a couple of projects.

We want to use jira together with Agile, Capture and Gantt Chart Project for JIRA to plan and track our develoment.

What we haven't been able to identify is the way we can allocate our developers in % to different projects (e.g. Developer XX is working 30% on Projekt 1 and 70% on project 2)

Can you help us in this case?

THX

Stephan

As I know you can prepare (out-of-the-box)

1.) workload reports grouped by User: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/User+Workload+Report;

You need to put username of your developer and
you will get table with user workload for his projects.

or

2.) workload reports for user selected in filter: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Workload+Pie+Chart+Report ;
You need to prepare filter for your developer user (... assignee=username),
In gadget enter:
- Filter name In Project or Saved filter field,
- statistic type "Project" in Statistic type field and
- "Time spent" in Time field to report on field.

You will get workload for user from filter grouped by projects (with % in table !).

I suggest you also to try one of time tracking and resource planning solutions (free or paid) available in Atlassian Marketplace.

( e.g. Tempo plugin: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/is.origo.jira.tempo-plugin or
JIRA Timesheet Reports and Gadget)
