How to access the Crowd configuration on a Jira server

Deleted user October 30, 2018

We have a Bamboo server v6.6.1.  In its configuration (Administration -> Security -> User Directories) the address of our Jira server is specified as an Atlassian Crowd directory server.

However, in our Jira server (v7.5.2) there is no Crowd configuration directory.  All Crowd-related files present in the server are .class and .jar files.  There is nothing running on port 8095.  Crowd server version appears to be v2.10.2 according to the .jar file names.  Nonetheless, Crowd on the Jira server appears to be working, since Bamboo uses it.

Where can we find the Crowd configuration?

Thanks.

Hi Dr01,

Are your Bamboo using Jira Server as a directory server? If yes, this could mean that the crowd that you mean here is Embedded crowd use by Jira User management.  There is no crowd configuration in Jira. Can you share with us what are you trying to configure?

Yes, Bamboo uses Jira as a directory server.  It is already configured and working, I just wanted to clarify a few things.

I wanted to know if there is a separate configuration for Crowd in Jira (as it appears this was the case in the past).  The denomination is somehow confusing, as it seems Crowd was a separate product in the past but now is embedded into Jira, and "Crowd" now only refers to the use of Jira as a directory server for other applications of the Atlassian stack.
