Contrariwise, forcing code wrapping makes many code blocks darn near impossible to read. Very often context matters as to whether it's helpful or destructive to wrap any particular block.
I would oppose unconditionally wrapping blocks. Perhaps adding a user preference or a button to wrap/not-wrap to each code-block display.
And, of course, the underlying problem is that code blocks are really just too narrow.
