In order to 'know' an issue has been created by email, it needs to be tagged in some way. JEMH amongst other things, can label issues, allowing them to be located easily: http://tinyurl.com/jemh4jira and, through an audit history view, allows you to see 'what' emails were received, and 'where' they went.
