Hello,

I am trying to Copy labels from an Epic, and copying them into the labels field on a child issue that has been linked to the Epic using Automation for Jira.

This would also be if a label is removed from an epic it should be removed from the child issue or if a new label is added to an epic then it needs to be added to the child issue.

Any help with this would be great.

Hi @Ness

There are plenty of community articles on this Topic.

See:

Could you also specify your rule in detail and what you have tried, also include audit log info and screenshots.

This will help community members to see your way of thinking.

We want to help people with requests, but not give them bite-size solutions.

We want people to try and if they get stuck, help them out. But then people will learn and understand the logic, instead of providing a solution that they don't understand.

Hi @Ness are you intending for the labels on the child issue to be a mirror / duplicate of the issues on the epic?  In which case the automation below will do the task for you:

(Note that this will copy the labels to all child issues)

mirror epic labels.png

If you want to have additional / different labels on the child issue the method involved will be more complex.
