How to Adresse the "Open Issue" Button in a Workflow

Ralf_Dondl March 4, 2020

In the Open Issue windows the Buttons  Edit, Comment, Assign, More and Admin. I think. are always the same.

The rest of the Buttons Depends on the Workflow that you have.

If I want to create my own Workflow. What must I add to use buttons like, Approve, Rejected,

Done, Reopen. I think a transition.  But if I create it, I have to less options to do that. Only if I can edit it I can add some more features. But what should I add to get the Buttons to work as the should?

The Following answere told me that what  I need.
IThe names of the buttons are the names of your Transitions in your Workflow between Statuses.
E.g. if the Transition name between Open and In Progress is ‘Start Progress’ then that will be the name of the button.
These Transition buttons will show dependent on what the current Status of your Issue is.

Hi @Ralf_Dondl welcome to the community

As you mentioned in your question you would need to add a transition to have more workflow buttons on the ticket, You need to add a transition from one status to another to be able to have those buttons on the ticket.

You can have multiple transitions from one status to another as well that way you have more buttons on the ticket.

Here is some documentation that you can use to get started - https://www.atlassian.com/blog/jira-software/building-workflow-awesome

Hope this helps!!
