Hi Team,

We are thinking about using JIRA tool in our cutover process.

As of now, we have detailed plan in Microsoft project planner. which drills down to 7th level.

So i have a question, Is is possible we have a task which has multiple subtask in that we have more subtask. Till 7th level.

Is there a way to change the task from an excel sheet? We might have cases where we will be changes the custom field of multiple task which we plan to change in excel so is is possible?

Hello,

You can use the following functionalities in Jira for subtasks

1. Standard subtasks. But there can be only 2 levels of the hierarchy. It would be a Task as the parent and a Subtask as a child

2. You can use Jira links to link issues between each other. For example you could create a link type called Relations with Parent and Child outgoing and incoming distanations and link issues by this link type. You can have as many levels of the hierarchy as you want. If you want to see the hierarchy of the issues in a convinient way you would need to install Structure plugin

3. You can install such plugins as Porfolio or Big picture (Big picture looks more like MS Project). These plugins will help you to determine the necassary hierarchy and you will be able to see the hierarchy in a convinient way.

You can update or insert issues from csv format. It s a standard functionality.
