How does Velocity report defines what sprint to show?

Elena Oleksenko November 16, 2017

Is it looks into issue history? Situation: I have 2 issues that previously was in sprint on another board (board A). And Velocity report shows this sprint on current board (board B) despite on fact that I removed sprintA from issue field (I cleared Sprint field in a bulk operation).

Dear Elena,

Velocity simply looks at which Issue is in what sprint. It does however calculate scope changes. It will always calculate your original commitment and what you deliver.

When a team removes a story from a sprint, it will still show the original commitment on the velocity chart. That is the point of the velocity chart. The velocity of a team is a measure of how much work that the team can handle within a specific time period, i.e. how much of the product backlog can be completed by the team in a sprint.

Friendly Regards,
