How do you set the default issue search to "Basic"

I was training new users today and noticed that when searching for issues, it defaults to the "Advanced" view. Is there a way to make sure this defaults to "Basic" since my users aren't aware of how to use the advanced search?

I think the search "mode" depends on the last state of the search. So if you switch to Basic, the next time you open the issue navigator it will show "Bacis" search.

Thanks for the response. It's hard to pinpoint because I thought this was the case as well. I've even made a test user and seen it as basic by default. Though, I've had some users say that they start off in advanced mode when they log in the first time. I just wanted to confirm if it's an option somewhere or if it's user confusion.

By default it should be "basic" unless someone started clicking on a filter which cannot be displayed on "basic" search. For example, if it has an advanced JQL function.

I'm going to guess that it has to do with me switching between users on the same computer. Perhaps some of the preferences are stored somewhere that is causing settings to spill over into another user's settings. I'll go ahead and mark this as the answer to close this one out.
