We recently restored our Jira system (7.13.1 version) after our primary Jira node on AWS failed/terminated. After restoring Jira from the latest snapshot, db backup, remounted the file system and re-configuring Jira system files, we noticed users are NOT receiving email notification when issues are updated. Any ideas on the best steps to restore the Jira email notification without causing additional issues?. Your response will be appreciated. Thanks. Flint
Hi Flint,
This is most likely related to your indexes being corrupted. Go ahead and re-index Jira and also run the Integrity Checker and the issue will likely be resolved.
You should go to Administration >> System >> Outgoing Mail to see if your outgoing mail server is enabled.
If enabled, then go to Administration >> System >> Mail Queue to see if mails pile up in the queue and also check the Error Queue to see if there are any mails with errors.
If you see issues here, you can go to Administration >> System >> Logging and Profiling page to enable debug mode on outgoing mail logs so you can see the details about sending mails in the SMTP log file in your Jira home folder.
