How do we bulk edit resolution of closed issues in JIRA Cloud?

Chuck Foster August 27, 2015

We have a large amount of issues that are Closed that are still set to Unresolved.  Previously, we were not displaying the resolution which caused this.  We've now included a post function on all transitions to Closed that set the Resolution to Done.  So, right now we need to be able to bulk edit the Resolution field to Done for all Closed tickets, but I'm unable to do so.  I read this arcticle (https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/14212854) and other similar articles, but I'm unable to create a transition from Closed to Closed as you can see in this screenshot (http://screencast.com/t/QaG9aP6nUhjx).

Can anyone help me set all issues with a status of Closed to a resolution of Done?

Thanks!

Thanks Teilor. It was the part about needing to copy it before editing it that I was missing. Thanks alot!

Hello.

First, I would recommend you to follow the steps in the link below:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/HowTo%3A+Bulk+Edit+Resolution

Now, the message you are seeing is expected, you will not be able to add a new transitions to an active workflow.

Your options are inactivate the workflow, make the changes and activate again or, make a copy of the workflow, add the transition and replace the current workflow with the copy you did.

Hope this helps!
Cheers!
Teilor
