How do I successfully copy an issue to another project as part of a transition

When any issues in Project A transition from status X to status Y, I would like to copy this issue to Project B with a different Issue Type. Both issues must be linked. The operation should be invisble to the user.

Is this possible? Any help muuch appreciated.

You could use the Clone Issue function from the script runner plugin, this lets you specify a target project and issue type without writing any code.
