How do I set up customer permissions so a specific type of customer only sees a specific portal?

Is there a way to approve customer accounts, or to block certain customers off from specific parts of the help portal?  I have 3 types of customers... Clients, Realtors, and Employees.  I don't want clients to see the employee or realtor part... etc
