How do I set retention time for done issues?

johnson September 15, 2022

Hello,

Is there a way to set the time to something more than 14 days or disable entirely for issues that are in done status? I noticed that all my issues in done status are missing after a couple of weeks. This is happening to team-managed project boards.

Thanks again for the assistance.

Hello @johnson,

Please navigate to your board's general configuration and set the "hide completed issues older than" field setting to the desired timeframe or select "view all" to view done issues for a longer period.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hello @johnson

Welcome to the community.

In a team-managed project board, no, you cannot configure the time period for when issues will be hidden in the Done column.

Note though that the issues still exist in the project. They have not been deleted, they have just stopped being displayed on the board to "de-clutter" the board. You can still view the issues by going to the Issues list in the navigation pane or by using issue searching functionality.

Hi @johnson

Yes, and...to Trudy's answer: there is an open suggestion to make that display timeframe configurable.  You may watch / vote for it to see progress.  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-22312

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi,

If your concern is to manage features or requirements for a roadmap for example, you'll be able to see them in the Roadmanp's timeline. They're kept for display there.
