How do I recover a project deleted from Jira Cloud?

Tom Oliphant June 9, 2015

A project was created back in February for a customer who was not yet ready to get started. It appears that someone thought the project was dead and deleted it. The customer is now ready to move forward. Is there a way to recover the project after it has been deleted?

Tom,

I've just contacted the Cloud Support team. They perform a database backup daily so they can revert the instance database for a day before the project was deleted. Hope it helps!

Just log a ticket for Cloud support on http://support.atlassian.com

Hi Tom,

I do believe that the Cloud team keeps the backup for some time, although I'm not completely sure how long they would have the files.

They might be able to give you a database dump from some older date, so I recommend to check with them if this is possible as Nic stated previously.

Cheers,

Rodrigo

Did you take offline backups before deleting the project?

If you don't have them, then you'll need to get in touch with Atlassian support to see if they can help, but I don't know how long they retain backups for, or if they'll restore from them for you.
