How do I list all the attachments attached to current ticket? (11. 2024)

Aleksandr Duk November 13, 2024

We moved to a new GUI design that allows display attachments in "strip view" and in "list view". Having "list view" is nice but if number of attachments is large, its difficult to navigate through as it's needed to jump from page to page or scroll the "strip view".

Is there any possibility to list ALL the attachments in one page?

p.s.: there was an old question like that (2019) and someone recommended to go to folder

jira_home/data/attachments

and look there.

Where is it?

Hi @Aleksandr Duk , the old question from 2019 you are referring to is for jira server / datacenter only, but not jira cloud - you don't have access to a filesystem or database in jira cloud.

Anyway, if you are open to try and use add ons from the atlassian marketplace, this add on might be something for your: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1233510/better-attachments-attachment-manager-pro-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

It gives you the possibility to

  • show all our attachments of your project (or multiple projects by using a custom jql search) in one place with filtering options and bulk operations
  • show all our issue's attachments in a dedicated panel in your issue view without pagination and also additional features like labelling / flagging / revisions

Feel free to reach out if you want to know more or if you have any questions about the add on.

Cheers, Paul from cyclops software

Thank you Paul!

So am I correct that with modern JIRA cloud it's not possible to list all the attachments without additional addons?

Team Cyclops November 13, 2024

Yes, correct. Within the issue view you only have the possibilities that you mentioned already:

  • view as list (paged)
  • view in strip view

The builtin attachments panel in the issue view is not optimised for a large amount of attachments, and Jira doesn't provide any other option currently. Attachment management in general is very limited in plain Jira.
