How do I include the Tempo Team name in the report exports?

How do you get the user's Tempo Team name (as defined in the Manage Team section) to show in a report or export? It doesn't seem to be a field within the Fields Section of the Tempo admin console.

No, this is not possible in the current version of Tempo. It might also be difficult to implement as users can be in more than one Team. You might consider creating a feature request in our Tempo Timesheets project (https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/TT) and we will see what we can do to solve this.

Surprised this hasn't already been requested. If anyone has a similar business case and would like to vote on this request, you can do so here: https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/TT-799

Hi Daniel,

in the Fields section of the Tempo Administration, you should have the possibility to check "Team". This will return the ID of the Team that is set for the Issue when you create a Timesheet export to XML or Excel (see also https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/TEAMS/Teams+Custom+Field).

If you want to create a report that gives you the users in a Team, you need to use the Teams REST API. Please take a look at https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/TEAMS/Teams+REST+API+Guide for more information.

Kind regards,

Susanne

Hi Susanne

Thank you for your time. Setting the team at the issue level doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense for us as we often have multiple teams touching an issue. For example:

  • a client manager may submit a feature request from a client. They would log their time associated.
  • That issue would then go to our product management team who would review it and add it to the backlog. They would log their time.
  • That issue would then make it to development, QA, and then back to the client manager all the way having those users log time.

What we are looking for is when we export the worklogs associated to that issue, have the users' Team (as defined in Manage Teams) show up next to the user. That way, we could sort by team to see how much time was spent by Development vs QA, etc on the issue. Is this possible?

I have included the Team (id: 10024) filed in the Fields section of the Tempo Administration but the field is not returned in the XML request.  Ami missing something or is this a bug?
