How do I identify which JIRA add-ons are being actively used?

Richard Grey July 12, 2018

We currently are subscribed to three add-ons that I don't think we are using.  I'd like to unsubscribe to these add-ons, but, I may break things for the few users that are actively using them.

Is there a way to tell whether we are using these any longer?  If I just 'unsubscribe' to them and wait until someone screams, can I easily just turn it back on by subscribing?

There's three ways to work it out

  1. Analyse what the add-ons are doing and go look for where they may have been implemented.  There's a very wide range of things add-ons might be doing, making it impossible to have a simple "is it used?" - you need a method to scan every possible usage.
  2. Analyse what they do and ask your users
  3. Turn them off and see if anyone yells at you

Yes, unsubscribing and then putting them back should be quite easy.  But I'd use methods 1 and 2 first.
