How do I handle Tickets with no assignee?

MayBe January 27, 2013

Hello,

Currently we have a dummy user for assigning closed tickets. Is there a new way? Is it possible inside Jira 5.2 to have tickets without assignee?

Is there a best practise how to handle that?

Hi,

it was always possible to have unassigned issues. You can configure this in the general configuration of the administration section. There you can allow unassigned issues.

You could turn on the Allow unassigned issues option under system > general configuration.

But then you need to handle all the other possible problems (define a default assignee for all issues created and identify all issue where the issues have been unassigned during progress).
