How do I grant permissions to a user group I have created?

If I have created a new user group how do I grant permissions to it?

Hi, Amie.
It depends on the permissions you want to grant. 

  1. If you want to have permissions over issues in a project, you can edit the permission scheme your project is associated to (JIRA Administration > Issues > Permission Scheme) or even manage this under the roles from your projects (Which will be reflected according to your permission scheme)
  2. If you want to have permissions under your instance itself in order to have administrative privileges, you can edit the Global Permissions or your instance (JIRA Administration > System > Global Permissions) and place this group to be a member of the JIRA Administrators role.
