How do I get the Figma Jira plugin to connect my Jira board?

I use Figma which offers a plugin to connect to Jira, ex. to generate Jira stories based on stories I plan in Figma.  But, I receive an Access Denied error when I try to connect to Jira, although I don't even know if I am connecting to the right instance of Jira.  Can you help me with this?
