How do I get my product backlog to reflect the priority I have in my project portfolio

I've worked with my product owner to develop and prioritize my project portfolio.  The backlog does not seem to change to reflect these priorities.  Whats the best way to get the product backlog updated to reflect the priorities in portfolio.

Changes you applied in Portfolio will not update your JIRA items automatically. That's why you didn't see changes in your backlog.

First, you need to Review (top right corner of your Portfolio Plan page) and Save the changes you've made in JIRA.

I've applied all the changes in portfolio.  That doesn't have any affect on the product backlog.
