How do I change status from WAITING

I have an issue in WAITING - how do I get it back in progress/to-do/done?

As you've said "issue", I'm assuming you mean Jira

Use a transition into a different status. I'm afraid we don't know your system, so we can't tell you how you've got your workflow set up, and can't tell you much more than that. You'll need to tell us more about your setup if you need more help.
