How do I change a Service Desk user into a Jira User

I have a customer that started as a Service desk user and now they'll need to be a JIRA user to administer their own project (with appropriate settings) short of deleting the SD user (which doesn't work because they have reported issues) how else can i change this user/email address into a JIRA user?

Hi Kaylee, 

You just need to visit this user on the User Management, and add him/her into the proper groups (e.g.: jira-users, developers, etc.)
