I would like to set up the board to display Epics as columns instead of the usual statuses (To Do, in Progress, Done) . but I am not sure how can I do that with the distribution of statuses.
Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Hi @Maz.Sleiman ,
=> In Kanban board you can create a filter inside the board for Epic Issue type and then make visible the filter on the board.
=> Then you can able to see the issues present in the Epics.
=> Another method is to create a Swimlanes in that create a Query based on the Issue type = Epic.
=> Then in the Kanban board you can see the issues with the specified swimlanes is visible to the Users with the Issues present in it.
Thanks that is exactly what I did. but I think it is so limiting that you can only use the statuses vertically. Other applications are already integrating such features to display the epics on top ( Microsoft Planner for example )

Hi @Maz.Sleiman and welcome to the Community!
You can't do that. Epics are issues that help you define bigger pieces of work you would like to achieve. They are best when they represent parts of your project (from a context / content perspective).
If you're not happy with to do / in progress / done, rather update the workflow your project is using. You are free to define statuses that represent your own process and use those instead of the template workflows that came with your project.
See this support article on working with workflows to get you started on the possibilities and dig into how you can configure your own workflows.
Hope this helps!

Hi @Maz.Sleiman
So you want to have 1 column per epic instead of statuses?
I'm afraid you can only use statuses as vertical columns.
Horizontally you can have swimlanes and group by epic. This can be done via your board configuration.
