How can i implement Change Management for my project?

Vibha Sati June 20, 2017

We have a requirement to implement change management for our projects in jira. I have created a KANBAN board, and have created the workflow.

Issues are flowing as per the workflow. However, I would like to have my subtasks not going through the flow.

Eg: My flow is: Open > Approval Pending > In progress <>Waiting > Closed

I create a user story as CR.. and that has to go through this flow. But when i create a sub task in this user story.. i need it to go to In progress state directly.

Is there a way to do it?

Create a new workflow, one that the "create issue" transition goes to "in progress".  Use the workflow scheme to tell the project to use the new workflow for all sub-task types.

Be aware that this might be slightly confusing for users.  If they create a sub-task when the parent is Open, then the sub-task will still be "in progress".  Might be fine for you, but I thought I should mention that it may look odd.
