How can I view all swimlanes or assign a task to a Swimlane?

I'm brand new to JIRA.  I created 2 additional swimlanes so now I have Expedite, General, Launch, and Everything else.  When I view the board, I only see the top 2 Swimlanes - Expedite and General. When I change the Expedite tasks to a lower priority, they get moved into General and I don't see Expedite anymore.

How do I assign a task to a specific swimlane? Do I have to have a rule set up for each one?

The Stories Swimlanes seems to be the most popular option from what I've seen.

Thanks for the answer.  After using it further, I think the queries is what was confusing me.  I organized by Stories and it's much easier for me (at least for now).

What JQL are you using for each Swimlane?

Off the top of my head, it sounds like you want to know the logic --

• A card can only exist in one swimlane at a time
• A card will match a queries top-down
