How can I track WIP on our Kanban Boards

I have read a report that states "Teams who aggressively control WIP – cut their lead time in half, have 1/4 as many defects". How can I monitor WIP?

You can hav a look at the Kanban reports for one. Other than that you can limit the WIP by adding an issue limit to columns. It's not a real limit though, merely a warning when WIP is being exceeded:
