How can I set up email notifications for child issues?

I am using next gen projects. When I assign tasks, the assignee receives an email notification. However when we add a child issue to a task and assign it to one of the team, there is no email notification. What do I need to do to ensure email notifications are sent when child issues are assigned?

you want that the task assignee gets mails when a child is assigned?

or the child assignees don't get mails when is is assigned to them?
