Hello,

I'd like to display from how many days an issue has been opened.

I'd like to calculate the difference between start day and the current day.

I'd like to display it as a result of a query.

Does this information already exists in Jira?

Thanks a lot.

Hello @Alessandra Morelli

Welcome to the community.

That information does not exist in a field that can be queried in a filter or displayed in issue filter results.

You could create a custom field for that, and run a scheduled Automation Rule each day to update it. Those are natively available options that don't require a third party app. However, there are limits on Automation Rules for how many rule executions you can have in a month, and how many issues can be processed in a Scheduled rule. You would have to consider those limitations to see if this solution would work for you. And you may require assistance from a Jira Administrator to implement the solution.

Another option would be acquisition of a third party app that could enable addition of a calculated field that would automatically calculate that information and display it in a field. Are you open to paying for a third party app for your instance to meet your need?
