How can I retroactively apply a issue security level to preexisting issues?

JS Neveu October 29, 2014

Just created a new issue security scheme with one level in it.

Associated the scheme with my project which already contained about 50 or so issues.

If I create new issues, I can pick the security level for that issue **at creation time** successfully.

But all preexisting issue don't show the field so I can apply the new security level to them.

How can I fix that?

Also, if I did not pick a security level upon creating the issue, the field will not show on the issue viewing page. How can I then assign the security level to that issue post-creation?

Thanks

Hi Jean-Sébastien,

You could do a Bulk edit of the previous issues and select the Edit action. The Security setting should show there and if it doesn't, you'll see a note on why it is not.

The same way, you can Edit the issue you are viewing and change the security setting on that screen. Using the tooltip "Where is my field?" you can search for Security if it is not being displayed.

More info at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Issue-level+Security (bulk option is mentioned at the very end) and http://blogs.atlassian.com/2013/04/jira-admins-where-is-your-field/ to find the field smile

Cheers!
