How can I retrieve Git Commits through JIRA API?

We are planning on enabling Git commits through the JIRA -> Git integration with the idea that we could retrieve the commits through the JIRA REST API.  Will Git commits be retrievable through the API?

you could use the following internal rest api https://YOUR_BASE_URL/jira/rest/dev-status/1.0/issue/detail?issueId=ISSUE_ID&applicationType=bitbucket&dataType=repository
